The CrossingPoints Program at The University of Alabama serves students with intellectual disabilities through three distinct tiers. Students receive authentic transition instruction, explore college opportunities, and experience inclusive college life through UA courses, campus living, student organizations, internships, employment training, and independent living instruction.

Since 2006, 80% of our students have gone on to meaningful employment after graduation—a rate approximately 50% higher than the national average for individuals with intellectual disabilities. In our Tier 3 program, 67% of graduates now live independently outside their families’ homes, exceeding the national average by approximately 34%. And 98% of our graduates report being satisfied or very satisfied with their social lives, reflecting the lasting impact of meaningful inclusion and belonging at UA.
