SGA Campaign for Student Need-Based Scholarships

The SGA Need-Based Scholarship Fund is an emergency financial assistance fund available to all UA students. The fund helps students succeed in their academic careers by helping provide them with necessities other than tuition, such as rent, medication, utilities, and travel for deaths in the family. Typically, the amount of requests drastically exceeds the amount of available scholarship money.

Our goal is to raise $5,000 to best serve all UA students that desperately need financial assistance. This project will enable us to fill every request we get from these very deserving students to help them reach their full potential. Every student’s request for emergency aid is verified by the Office of Student Care and Well-Being and awards are voted on by a committee of SGA students.

“We have appreciated the SGA’s effort to assist students in providing financial relief in times of financial struggle. The SGA NBS has been used by students to purchase much needed course materials, cover unexpected medical expenses, fill temporary financial shortfalls, and relieve food insecurity. These funds are a vital source of support to the capstone community and enhance our office’s ability to help students.”
