The Crimson Racing team was created for students at the University of Alabama to take part in the Formula SAE competition. The Formula SAE series competitions challenge teams of university undergraduate and graduate students to conceive, design, fabricate, develop, and compete with small, formula-style vehicles. The competitions give teams the chance to demonstrate and prove both their creativity and engineering skills in comparison to teams from other universities around the world. Since the creation, Crimson Racing has successfully competed at both FSAE Michigan and Lincoln.
In 2019, Crimson Racing had its best finish in its history by placing 10th Overall at FSAE Michigan. In individual events, the team secured 7th place in both Business Presentation and Engineering Design. The team also finished 9th in Endurance and 13th in Autocross, both dynamic events.
For the 2020 season, Crimson Racing has set a goal to improve upon 10th place and finish best out of all teams from the United States. The team will need your help to get there! Your support will be a huge help to the team’s efforts to reach the 2020 goal. A donation will not only assist Crimson Racing in being more competitive, but it will enable students with more learning opportunities. The more our team members get involved with our program, the more they succeed in the classroom and in the workforce.
