#GivingTuesday is a global generosity movement that empowers nonprofit organizations everywhere. It was created in 2012 with a simple goal: encourage people to do good. Since then, it has grown into a year-round global movement that inspires hundreds of millions of people to give, to collaborate and to celebrate philanthropy.
Giving to UA on Giving Tuesday allows alumni, students, faculty, staff, leaders and friends the chance to lean into our values in direct, meaningful ways. How can I help UA's Giving Tuesday?
You can help increase the impact we make with Giving Tuesday by spreading the word! Use your social media channels to bring awareness to this event and directing friends and family to crowdfunding.ua.edu/givingtuesday.
How do I contribute to UA's Giving Tuesday?
Go to crowdfunding.ua.edu/givingtuesday and find the campuswide priority fund that means the most to you.
Is my contribution tax-deductible?
Yes, contributions through UA's crowdfunding platform support specific areas of the University and are therefore eligible for income tax deductions as allowed by law.
I don't see my preferred gift designation. What should I do?
If you'd like to make a gift to a fund that is not included on the Giving Tuesday site, please go to give.ua.edu.
What methods of payment are accepted?
All major credit cards are accepted (Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Discover), as well as payroll deduction.
Will I receive a receipt for my donation?
Yes, The University of Alabama will send you a gift receipt via email for tax purposes.
Note: the charge may appear as "UA Advance" on your statement.
When is Giving Tuesday?
Giving Tuesday will be celebrated on Tuesday, December 3, 2024.
Can I designate where my gift goes?
During Giving Tuesday, you can choose the area that means the most to you from the campuswide priorities found at crowdfunding.ua.edu/givingtuesday. You are always free to choose what your gift supports!
Who can contribute to Giving Tuesday?
Anyone! Contributions to projects can be made by any individual or organization to support the UA community.
Does UA store my credit card information?
No, we will not store any payment or credit card information.
Is my gift eligible for employer/corporate matching?
Yes. However, it can take several weeks for employers' matching funds to reach UA. In the event the match does not arrive before the project deadline, it will be applied to the respective organization's account for future projects.
