Performing in front of millions of fans each year, the Million Dollar Band has been a Crimson Tide tradition for 104 years. Saturdays at the Capstone would not be the same without the excitement provided by our 400 members of the Million Dollar Band, which is one of the most respected university marching bands in the country.
Members of the Million Dollar Band are majors in almost every school and department within UA, and we are easily the largest student organization on campus. In addition to winning the Sudler Award in 2003, which designates the “National Champion” of collegiate marching bands, the Million Dollar Band has been invited to perform exhibitions all over the country.
Unlike most college bands, the Million Dollar Band does not have a matching set of instruments. A successful campaign will enable us to improve our sound, enhance our image and replace aging instruments.
Our goal is to raise $40,000 to fund an entire section of new instruments for the Million Dollar Band in 30 days.
Any gift to the band is appreciated. It's amazing what can be accomplished with a large amount of small donations.
